We are looking for a fulltime Senior Carbon Consultant to join our Sustainability Consulting team, based in the US. The focus will be serving as a technical lead on carbon accounting, guiding, and supporting project teams on measuring operational (Scope 1,2,3), Life Cycle Assessment (LCA A1-D) and embodied carbon improving the sustainable performance of client operations, assets (existing building portfolios, fleets, etc) of a wide-range of clients, as well as providing client and design teams guidance on measuring low-carbon building design and construction. Projects are anticipated to center on technical guidance but will require the candidate be able to translate technical information, in verbal, visual and narrative formats, for non-technical audiences.  

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Research, modeling, projections and analysis of energy, waste, transportation, GHG, LCA, embodied carbon and related metrics 

  • Structure and guide the process of collecting and interpreting complex client data sets  

  • Understand how GHG type metrics translate to data inputs needed for LEED, ILFI, CDP, GRI, GRESB, and other third-party building and corporate sustainability reporting 

  • Diagraming, mapping and digital illustrations of technical concepts to visualize intent for non-technical audiences 

  • Support the team in client meetings 

  • Coordinate with multiple disciplines in complex building, strategic planning and operations projects 

  • Create client PowerPoint presentations, memos, reports and graphic presentations 

  • Lead internal knowledge sharing and support development of staff relative to carbon accounting 

  • Participating in local Professional Associations  

 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree, with Master’s degree preferred, in Sustainability Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, Data Management, or a related subject. 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a sustainability-related field. 

  • Demonstrated expertise in private-sector carbon accounting, Scopes 2, 2 and 3 and the GHG Protocol 

  • Demonstrated Expertise in Life Cycle Assessments (LCA, A1-D) 

  • Awareness of the following preferred: CDP, GRI, GRESB, ILFI, SDGs 

  • Experience with the built environment, and preferably corporate sustainability projects

What we offer:

  • Salary range of $105,000 to $126,000. This will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience
